Multi-time Amateur National Champion Sean Cantrell, one of the top up and coming riders in the Amateur National scene, signed a multi-year deal with the Troy Lee Designs Lucas Oil Red Bull KTM team. The 14 year old is fresh off a Super Mini Championship at Loretta Lynn’s and is looking forward to the move to the big bikes this fall.

“Being a part of the Troy Lee Designs/ Lucas Oil / Red Bull / KTM Team is such an honor,” Cantrell said via a team release. “They are an amazing group of guys and I’m blessed to be a part of an elite team. For them to pick up a rider fresh off of a Super Mini Championship is very motivational to me because they truly believe in my ability to win races, and they are willing to support me and help me accomplish my goals. I cannot wait to represent them. This is definitely a dream come true.”

Cantrell will compete in the 250 B and Schoolboy classes in 2015 joining TLD teammate, Justin Hoeft, who will race in the A class. Cantrell is slated to move into Hoeft’s position the following year.

“We are very excited to bring Sean to the team,” says team manager Tyler Keefe via a team release. “He was the missing piece of the puzzle for us. With our new partnership with KTM and our alliances with Lucas Oil and Red Bull, Sean will fit perfectly into our program. We believe he has the ability to win titles at the amateur level over the next couple years and then continue to do that once he transitions to pro racing. We couldn’t be happier to welcome Sean into the TLD family.”
