New to the U.S. market will be the 2015 Husqvarna TE 125
Husqvarna introduced its second line of off-road and — dual sport! — motorcycles since merging with KTM in 2013. The 2015 line has expanded from 10 to 14 models with the U.S. introduction of the TE 125 two-stroke off-roader, TC 350 motocrosser, and the new FE 350 S and FE 501 S dual sports.
“Last year was a fantastic re-introduction for Husqvarna,” explained Husqvarna Motorcycles Brand Manager Steve Lawler. “Premium quality and industry-leading innovation of the 2014 model line has laid the groundwork for Husqvarna’s new generation, and having a wide variety of choices is the next step in strengthening the brand.”
Husqvarna says it’s going to hit the Supercross and outdoor National MX tour in 2015 with the 2015 FC 250 and FC 450. The North American market will receive an elite spec of these motocross bikes, featuring a subframe made from carbon-fiber-reinforced polyamide – an advanced injection-molded material selected for its light weight and exceptional strength.
Here’s the rundown on the complete 2015 line of Husqvarna motorcycles straight from the horse’s mouth:
TE 125
Husqvarna’s two-stroke enduro category grows a little wider with the new TC 125, which provides even more choice to off-road riders looking for the simple design and easy maintenance of a two-stroke. The TE 125 carries many of the same features of the larger TE machines, including the sophisticated 4CS WP fork, linked rear suspension featuring the DCC (dual compression control) WP rear shock. Husqvarna’s signature CNC-machined triple clamps ensure optimum clamping surface and precision control of the front end while also providing four different handlebar positions.
The eighth-liter mill features a high-performance cylinder and power valve. The Vertex piston is designed to deliver healthy bottom-end torque as well as excellent top-end performance. In keeping with its simple and lightweight nature, the TE 125 relies on a kick-starter (rather than electric).
The TE 125’s Magura hydraulic clutch offers smooth, consistent actuation of the six-speed gearbox while Boyesen reed valves ensure crisp throttle response and maximum durability.
FC 350
Husqvarna’s middleweight 4-stroke motocrosser has arrived! By combining the lightweight agility of a 250 and the hard-hitting power of a 450, the FC 350 provides premium performance on the track. Based on the FC 250 platform, the 350 is powered by a DOHC engine with lightweight titanium valves and DLC (diamond like carbon) coated finger followers. The CP-Carrillo forged box-type piston combines maximum performance and reliability with minimum weight, and cranks out an impressive 54 horsepower.
The FC 350 carries the same 2015 upgrades to the FC 250, including the CSS clutch and one-piece machined steel clutch basket (see below). The FC 350 shares the suspension components, and key features such as electric start and Brembo brakes and hydraulic clutch with the FC family. Unlike its 250 and 450 siblings, however, the FC 350 will carry Husqvarna’s standard fiberglass-reinforced polyamide composite rear subframe.
2015 TC 450
2015 Husqvarna Motocross Highlights
All FC & TC (excluding TC 85)
New 4CS WP fork
Four-chamber fork specifically designed for motocross with improved damping and lighter weight. Clicker settings can be easily adjusted without tools via dials on top of the fork tubes (rebound on the right side, compression on the left).
New 22mm front axle
Lighter weight 22mm front axle – replacing previous 26mm axle. Axle clamps have shorter offset and increased trail for improved stability.
New linkage
The revised linkage features new geometry for improved handling and shock performance. The optimized rising rate offers a more linear curve for better overall control and a more positive feel throughout the entire stroke of the shock. Advanced production techniques of the triangle and pull rod result in a 40g weight savings.
WP rear shock
Husqvarna’s DCC (Dual Compression Control) shock made by WP features new valving and a 4mm increase in stroke. Slightly longer stroke complements the new link geometry without changing the rear wheel travel.
Subframe reinforcement
Lightweight subframe is reinforced with an additional screw on the left side that improves fitment and seal with the airbox.
New fork protectors
Distinctive yellow fork protectors are redesigned, and no longer wrap all the way around the fork leg. The new design allows easier access to the fork seal for service.
Oil pump
4-stroke engines receive new O-rings for increased durability under extreme conditions.
Improved hand guards
Husqvarna motocross bikes come standard with hand guards, which are stronger and have better impact resistance thanks to a new compound.
Neken handlebar
Black anodized Neken aluminum handlebar with high quality Neken bar pad.
Seat cover
Improved seat features new cover material for improved grip and durability. The material is also more robust, making the entire seat firmer than before.
Dunlop MX52
Lightweight black anodized D.I.D rims carry new Dunlop MX52 tires featuring a directional front tire, and “block-within-a-block” design on the rear.
New graphics
Signature blue and yellow look of Husqvarna evolves with edgy new graphics.
US-spec FC 250 & FC 450
Subframe
Exclusive to the North American market, the 2015 Husqvarna FC 250 and FC 450 feature a carbon-fiber-reinforced polyamide subframe.
The FC 350 and FC 450 get the new carbon-fieber-reinforced polyamide subframe.
The material is constructed through an advanced injection-molding technique, which integrates carbon fiber into the polyamide composite, for an exceptionally durable and lightweight compound.
FC 250 & FC 350
CSS Clutch
CSS (coil steel spring) clutch is updated with lightweight one-piece machined steel clutch basket, which integrates the primary gear for maximum strength and reliability. Clutch springs are also upgraded with new material that ensures more consistent performance.
TC 85
Swingarm
The single-component cast swingarm has been redesigned for 2015 on the TC 85. It is now 0.5kg lighter while maintaining the same structural characteristics. The new swingarm also features a redesigned chain guide, chain slider and brake hose bracket that optimize safety and performance.
Tires
TC 85 receives new Maxxis “Maxx Cross SI” tires for exceptional straight line stability and excellent traction.
2015 Husqvarna Off-Road Highlights
All FE & TE
New headlight and front number plate and fender
Husqvarna look evolves with a new front mask and headlight. The new front fender (same as the motocross fender) provides easier mounting, and complements the slim, stylish lines of the 2015 Husqvarna’s distinctive bodywork.
New CNC machined triple clamps
Black anodized CNC machined triple clamps are revised to accept the new front fender, and provide a more stable and secure fit. Husqvarna’s distinct triple clamps provide uniform clamping of the fork leg in order to distribute forces evenly and maintain the leg shape. Controlled flex of the fork ensures proper damping along the entire stroke for optimum performance.
Oil pump
Four-stroke engines receive new O-rings on the suction screen for increased durability under extreme conditions.
Subframe reinforcement
Lightweight subframe is reinforced with an additional screw on the left side that improves fitment and seal with the airbox.
New speedometer cover
Redesigned speedometer cover thoughtfully conceals all warning lights – except high-beam – for a cleaner display.
Improved hand guards
All Husqvarna FE and TE models come standard with hand guards, which are stronger and have better impact resistance thanks to a new compound.
Seat cover
Improved seat features new cover material for improved grip and durability. The material is also more robust, making the entire seat firmer than before.
