Spider Grips Ducati / Race Tech partner for Pikes Peak

Race Tech is excited to provide the defending Pikes Peak championship winning factory Spider Grips/Ducati team with suspension components and tuning for the 2012 “Race to the Clouds”. Last year’s champion, and Pikes Peak motorcycle record holder Carlin Dunne joins the team alongside 6-time winner Greg Tracy.
Greg Tracy is a Hollywood stuntman, director, and producer with 6 wins at Pikes Peak.
Carlin Dunne is one of only 3 motorcycle rookies to win at Pikes Peak. With his win last year at the event, Carlin heads into the 2012 event as the “King of the Hill” and “Rookie of the Year” honors on his resume, as well as the current motorcycle record holder.
Race Tech’s owner, Paul Thede is no stranger to Pikes Peak. A former champion and record holder, Thede himself has been testing and tuning with the Spider Grips/Ducati squad.
“We started with the suspension – with the help of Paul Thede of Race Tech we have been working on using the adjustable settings on the forks and rear shock to match each rider’s physical size and also their riding style. During several track days at Las Vegas Speedway and Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, Paul worked with Greg and Carlin to dial in the settings – and both riders say it makes a huge difference to have the motorcycle set exactly for him,” the Spider Grips/Ducati team stated in their blog.
Be sure to follow the team blog for all the latest updates as the team prepares for this year’s event.
Race Tech will also be following all the action via Facebook and Twitter.
