Hayes Wins Xtreme

LEXINGTON, OH, AUG. 2, 2008 – Erion Honda’s Josh Hayes won a red-flag shortened Formula Xtreme final today at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, beating his teammate to the flag by .7 of a second after scoring was reverted back to the 10th lap. The race was stopped when young Garrett Carter crashed in the corner coming onto the front straight. The Michigan resident was transported from the facility. Third place went to EMGO Team M4 Suzuki’s Martin Cardenas with the Attack Kawasaki’s of Chaz Davies and Steve Rapp rounding out the top five. The win was Hayes’ first of the year. Zemke still holds a comfortable lead in the championship, 235-196 over Rapp. Pegram is third with 192 points with Hayes sitting in fourth on 178. Formula Xtreme Final 1. Josh Hayes (Honda) 2.
