Steve Hatch Joins Kawasaki Team Green

Kit Palmer | December 23, 2003

Kawasaki Team Green hasn’t quite finalized its 2004 off-road teams yet, but it has signed on quite a few riders already, and there have been a few significant changes.

One of the team’s newest members is former Suzuki rider Steve Hatch who will, along with Chuck Woodford, Andy Shea and Josh McLevy, focus on the Grand National Cross Country Series under the TeamThrottlehead.com Kawasaki Team Green banner. Hatch will also attend the AMA National Enduro Series, while Woodford will also follow the AMA National Hare Scrambles Series. It looks as though Woodford will ride Kawasaki’s new KX250F four-stroke.

On the west coast, Destry Abbott, new recruit Lance Smail and David Pearson will concentrate on the WORCS and AMA National Hare & Hounds Series. Smail, however, will focus solely on the WORCS series. Kawasaki will also support Clay Hoenshell in the TCCRA series.

Kawasaki Team Green has not yet signed but is in negotiations with Brian Brown, Shane Esposito and Mike Childress. Long-time Team Green rider Fred Andrews has left Kawasaki, replacing Hatch at Team Suzuki Off-Road.
