Carpenter Perfect in Idaho

Honda-mounted Paul Carpenter took top honors at the seventh round of the AMA/Maxxis Tires Western Four-Stroke National MX Championship Series in Boise, Idaho, June 22. Carpenter, the defending champ, won both motos, while Honda rider Jason McCormick and Yamaha-mounted Dustin Nelson battled back and forth for second place. McCormick ended up getting the upper hand after trading 3-2 finishes with Nelson, who ended up third.

Fourth place went to Honda rider Mike Corder with a 9-4, while former champ Spud Walters, Honda, rounded out the top five overall.
