Pearson Tops National Enduro Opener

| February 21, 2003

Last weekend’s Quicksilver National Enduro opener in New Idria, California, served notice that Montclair Yamaha’s Russ Pearson is not just a desert guy. He won the series-opening Hare & Hound a couple of weeks earlier, finished third in the Hare Scrambles opener, and he finished second at each of the first two WORCS rounds of the season.

Riding a YZ250F, Pearson topped YZ250-mounted Randy Hawkins, David Lykke and Barry Hawk, while defending champ Mike Lafferty overcame bike problems for fifth.
