Pearson Sweep!

| June 3, 2002

Russ Pearson led a Pearson-family sweep of round two of the AMA Reliability Enduro Series in Idaho City, Idaho. Riding a YZ250F, Nick took top honors on Saturday, followed by Russ and then David. Russ turned it up on Sunday, finishing first ahead of cousin David, and Kurt Caselli grabbed third ahead of Nick.

When the final points were tallied, it was Russ, David and Nick, one, two, three. This was Russ’ second overall win in Idaho, the other coming in 2000. Brian Sperle and Kurt Caselli rounded out the top five overall in the two-day.

Seven-time ISDE gold-medalist (1969-1979) Billy Uhl was coaxed out of a 22-year retirement by Chilly White and rode a Gas Gas 300 to sixth in the LOI Senior class on Saturday.

Last year’s overall winner, Destry Abbott, was absent, having suffered a knee injury riding near his home the week before and requiring surgery.
