Rounds 11 and 12 of the SFX Freestyle Motocross Series saw Winter X Gold Medalist “Mad” Mike Jones keep his ’01 winning streak alive this weekend, jumping to double wins in Cleveland, Ohio, on his Kawasaki. Finishing second to the veteran on Friday was Kenny Bartram, who competed on a Yamaha YZ250F four-stroke (taking a page our of Ernesto Fonseca’s book, Bartram stalled his thumper on Saturday and finished fourth). Honda-mounted Drake McElroy finished third on Friday and second on Saturday.
Dustin Miller took his Honda to fourth on Friday and third on Saturday, in front of a sold-out crowd in Gund Arena.
