Giovanni Wins Stage, Lewis Third

KTM’s Giovanni Sala won today’s 19th stage of the Paris-Dakar Rally, a 349.6-mile stage that featured 134.5 miles of special test. Sala topped BMW’s Cyril Despres and his factory teammate Jimmy Lewis in today’s stage.

As far as the overall standings go, Fabrizio Meoni further extended his lead over fellow KTM rider Jordi Arcarons today, with Meoni now leading by 25 minutes, three seconds. Carlo De Gavardo, another KTM rider, is third overall.

Lewis, meanwhile, is now just two minutes behind sixth-place runner John Deacon in the overall standings. Johnny Campbell, eighth in today’s stage, remains eighth overall.
