Geneva, Switzerland: Night 1

| December 16, 2000

Ohio native Jeff Gibson and 21-year-old Frenchman Mathieu Lalloz were the two big winners at the Geneva, Swizerland, invitational round of Arenacross on Friday night.

Gibson gated second in the 125cc final behind Buddy Antunez and preceeded to pass and pull away from the four-time and defending champ for the win in front of 12,000 loud and wild fans.

In the 250cc final, the large crowd went berzerk when Frenchman Lalloz passed Americans Jeff Willoh and Denny Stephenson for the lead halfway through the race. Lalloz took the win over Stephenson and Switzerland’s own Phillipe Dupasquier.
