Although the Paris-Cairo Rally organizers have been promised full cooperation and protection from Niger authorities, they have decided to air lift the entire rally from Niamey, Niger, to the airports of Sabbah and Waw el Kebir, Libya.

The air lifting of the teams, riders and drivers will begin tomorrow. If everything goes according to plan, event organizers are hoping that the race can start again on Monday, January 17.

Note to Cycle World staffers, Jimmy Lewis will not be showing up to work as scheduled.
