Honda’s first steps into the full size electric motorcycle market unveiled in the WN7.


Honda used the stage at EICMA 2025 to unveil the V3R 900 E-Compressor Prototype, a machine the company says represents a new direction in both engine configuration and performance delivery. The centerpiece is a water-cooled, 75-degree V3 engine that was first shown in concept form last year, now confirmed at 900cc and paired with what Honda calls the world’s first electronically controlled compressor on a production-intent motorcycle. Honda says this electronically managed compressor allows the engine to precisely regulate boost pressure in real time, improving throttle response and producing strong torque from low rpm. According to the company, output performance is intended to rival that of a 1200cc-class engine while aiming for improved environmental efficiency compared with a traditional larger-displacement unit. The project is framed as part of Honda’s broader 2030 Vision, which emphasizes expanding mobility and delivering new riding experiences. The prototype is built around a compact and slim engine layout, with Honda highlighting the combination of “promised thrills” and “reassuring peace of mind” as the fundamental performance target. Bodywork includes asymmetrical side fairings and a new Honda Flagship WING emblem on the fuel tank—a branding element that will begin appearing on the company’s high-end models starting next year. While specific chassis, electronics, and production timeline details were not provided, the prototype is clearly positioned as a high-end performance model and a technology showcase.
