The American Motorcyclist Association announced the list of racing numbers for those participating in the upcoming 2027 AMA Supercross, AMA Pro Motocross, and SuperMotocross World Championship seasons. Three riders have selected new career numbers along with the rest of the gate scoring updated digits for the upcoming racing season.
Champions
1 – 450 SMX: Jorge Prado
After recently winning the 2026 SMX World Championship, Jorge Prado is now set to run the #1 plate in the 2027 Playoffs. At Anaheim 1 he’ll sport his new career number of 61 with purple backgrounds to signify his position as the SMX World Champ. 61 was Prado’s long-term number in the MXGP series before he switched over to the US.
1 – 450 SX: Ken Roczen
No word yet if Ken Roczen will defend his AMA Supercross title but if he chooses to do so he’ll have the option to run the coveted #1 plate come A1. He’ll switch back to #94 if he chooses to race in Pro Motocross or the SMX Playoffs.
1 – 450 MX: Hunter Lawrence
You’ll see the trademarked #96 on Hunter Lawrence come A1 but he’ll trade that in for a big #1 come the start of the Pro Motocross Championship.
1 – 250 SMX: Levi Kitchen
Levi Kitchen keeps his career #47 for SX and MX but will race with #1 come the SMX Playoffs. His regular season number will have purple backgrounds like Prado.
1E / 1 – 250 MX: Cole Davies
Cole Davies won both the 250SX East and the 250MX championships this year and is eligible to run the 1 in both series. If he chooses to race 250 West he’ll opt for his new career number, 5, before switching back to #1 for outdoors. He’ll also be #5 come the SMX Playoffs.
1W – Haiden Deegan
Haiden Deegan won the 250SX West Divisional Championship but has since made the jump to the 450 class and will not defend his title, nor the 1W.
New Career Numbers
5 – Cole Davies
Cole Davies is eligible for a single digit number after winning championships in the 2026 season and opted for number five since his longtime amateur digit (17) is currently taken by Joey Savatgy. Dungey lost the number at the end of 2023 and no one had picked it since.
10 – Ryder DiFrancesco
Ryder DiFrancesco earned enough points this season to pick a career number and chose #10.
61 – Jorge Prado
Jorge Prado returns to his longtime number of 61 with the ability to run #1 in the Playoffs. He earned national number 26 but now has the ability to choose a career number thanks to his breakout run this year.
