Beta’s popular XTrainer 300 now has a little brother, the XTrainer 200. The XTrainer 200 is a brand-new model from Beta and will be joining the Italian manufacturer’s 2027 model lineup.

Derived from Beta’s X-Pro models, the XTrainer 200’s engine “has been refined to meet the needs of a wide range of riders, from off-road novices to seasoned enthusiasts seeking an agile, fun bike for the toughest hard enduro trails,” says Beta.
The 2027 XTrainer 200 and 300 models receive a series of shared updates, including a chassis upgrade, a redesigned headlight and mask, an updated chain guide and front-sprocket guard and new graphics. Both models also feature a black frame, a first for the XTrainer lineup.

Beta says the 200’s engine has been developed to deliver linear, controllable torque due to new power-valve timing, revised porting and a new piston design.
Beta added, “The design of the new 200 was intended to fill a distinct gap in the market. Younger or smaller-stature riders who no longer want to wrestle with a full-size model will find the XTrainer 200 a very pleasant surprise. Equipped with electric start, a low seat height, and electronic oil injection, the 200 fits perfectly into the legendary XTrainer family.”
The XTrainer 300, Beta’s best-selling 300cc two-stroke model, returns to the lineup with “enhanced, more robust, and functional components.”

For 2027, the 300 is offered in two configurations: a standard-height model and a Lowboy model. The Lowboy features a 34.6-inch seat height, roughly 1.2 inches lower than the standard model’s 35.8-inch height. The Lowboy model shares the same specifications as the standard version, except for shorter suspension travel.
All 2027 Beta XTrainer models will be available in August with MSRPs of $8799 for the 200 and $8990 for the 300 and 300 Lowboy models.CN

2027 Beta XTrainer 200
- Revised Exhaust and Transfer Ports: Reducing the size of the transfer and exhaust ports optimizes power delivery at low rpm. This translates to more torque right off idle and eliminates flat spots. The cylinder design enhances bottom-end grunt while maintaining the ideal compression ratio to provide plenty of top-end power for big climbs.

- Cylinder Head: The combustion chamber geometry is engineered to maximize efficiency at low- to mid-RPMs. Specifically, a wider squish band generates high mixture turbulence, improving combustion speed and ignition stability even at partial throttle. The compression ratio is perfectly calibrated to maximize efficiency without sacrificing smoothness.
- Piston: Featuring a longer profile, the new piston is designed to work in perfect harmony with the updated power valve timing and cylinder head. The dome shape, different from the RR models, helps direct transfer flows toward the top of the combustion chamber, minimizing the loss of fresh fuel mixture through the exhaust. This results in cleaner combustion and more responsive bottom-end torque.
- Reduced-Load Clutch Springs: Softer clutch springs reduce lever pull effort and increase progressiveness, significantly reducing the risk of stalling in tight, technical sections.

- Power Valve: The exhaust power valve timing has been revised to match the new engine’s characteristics, prioritizing low-end torque and a silky-smooth initial throttle response while eliminating abrupt power surges. XTrainer engines are legendary for this predictable, “electric-style” power delivery.
- Ignition Timing: The ignition mapping has been completely matched to the new engine’s power curve. Optimized low-RPM timing improves combustion behavior during the power stroke, increasing torque while maintaining quick, highly controllable throttle response.
- Exhaust System: The new engine features a dedicated expansion chamber. While inspired by the geometry of its larger 300cc sibling, it is custom-tuned to maintain the distinct sound and smooth power delivery the XTrainer line is famous for.
- Airbox Air Boot: To complete the engine package, a dedicated intake boot was developed for the 200 setup, further optimizing airflow to maximize low-end power and torque.

2027 Beta XTrainer 200 Chassis:
- Frame: The new engine is integrated into an updated frame developed specifically for the 200cc powerplant, while retaining the fundamental geometry of the 300cc model. The chassis is engineered to maintain the signature riding feel of the XTrainer lineup, ensuring optimized weight distribution, precision, and effortless control in the most technical situations.
- Rear wheel: Featuring a 140/80 tire on an 18 x 1.85-inch rim, the rear wheel setup maintains the perfect balance between traction and agility. Beta engineers selected this specific combination to strike the ideal sweet spot between crisp steering response and maximum hook-up.
New Features for Entire XTrainer Range
- Brakes: Nissin, with 260mm disks at the front and 240mm at the rear, the braking system retains the Japanese manufacturer’s setup but now features an updated solid rear disk with a wavy profile, resulting in more modulated and progressive braking, particularly useful on slower, technical downhill sections.

- Headlight and headlight mask: the new LED headlight has a beam that significantly improves upper visibility compared to the previous model and is housed in a new headlight mask that gives it a modern, recognizable identity.
- Graphics and colors: the new, fully revised graphics introduce a brand-new red scheme with a black-painted frame, enhancing visual impact and helping define the new character of the range.
- Chain guide: the new component is more durable than before and is resistant to mud, stones or impacts in the channels, reducing the risk of the chain jumping and damaging the bike, thereby increasing safety. The reinforced structure better absorbs stresses, protects the swingarm and extends the life of the drivetrain.
- Front sprocket guard: the new pinion guard has been redesigned to offer wider coverage and greater strength than the previous model, ensuring superior protection against impacts, debris and external elements during use, as well as greater safety for the rider.

More 200 & 300 XTrainer Features
- Lightweight Design: Proudly stands as one of the lightest enduro motorcycles on the market.
- Approachable Seat Height: Reduced by 20mm (roughly 0.8 inches) compared to the standard RR models, making it much easier for riders to confidently plant their feet on the ground.

- Fully Adjustable Suspension: Features an R16V package with 43mm front forks and a progressive rear linkage. The system is entirely tunable, offering preload and rebound adjustments up front, alongside spring preload, compression, and rebound adjustments on the rear shock.
- Beta Progressive Power Valve: Like all Beta two-stroke enduro models, the XTrainer features an adjustable exhaust power valve, allowing riders to easily fine-tune the power delivery to match their riding style.
- Automatic Oil Injection: Featured on both the 200 and 300 models, electronic oil injection eliminates the need to mix gas. The oil tank is conveniently located under the seat, which pops open at the push of a button.

- High-Traction Tires: Equipped with a soft compound and aggressive tread pattern to ensure maximum grip in all conditions, delivering a plush, compliant ride compared to tires with stiffer sidewalls.
- Standard Cooling Fan: A radiator fan is standard equipment on the XTrainer lineup, ensuring the engine maintains its optimal operating temperature even during slow, technical trail riding.
- Electric Start: Reliable, crisp, and effortless—an essential feature for quick restarts in tough, off-camber situations.
