Isle of Man (May 6, 2026)—Croatia’s Loris Majcan returns for a third TT campaign, targeting further progress with full focus on the Supersport class in 2026.
The 30-year-old from Zagreb will again contest the two Monster Energy Supersport races for the Bihui Yamaha Racing Team, this time opting for the next-generation Yamaha YZF-R9 rather than his previous Yamaha YZF-R6.
Majcan had originally planned to contest the two Carole Nash Sportbike races on a Yamaha R7, but due to budget constraints, those plans have been postponed until 2027. Unlike in 2025, he will also not compete in the 1000cc classes, allowing for a more concentrated program centered on continued development and refinement in the middleweight categories.
Majcan has made a favorable impression at the TT, both on and off track, since making his debut in 2024. His professionalism, preparation and presentation have stood out in the paddock, qualities that have translated into steady progress on the Mountain Course. That debut campaign saw him finish 34th and 44th in the Supersport races, securing a bronze replica in the second race with a best lap of 118.053mph. His performances earned him both the Vernon Cooper Newcomer’s Trophy and the RST Star of Tomorrow award.
Returning in 2025, the Croatian expanded his program to include the 1000cc races. However, disrupted qualifying due to weather conditions limited his track time on the larger capacity machinery. Despite this, he broke the 120mph barrier in both RL360 Superstock TT races, posting a best lap of 121.340mph in Race 2. In Supersport, he recorded a best lap of 119.571mph and claimed 29th place in Race 2 along with another bronze replica, underlining continued progression.
Majcan’s growing reputation was further reflected by his popularity with fans, who voted him winner of the Monster Energy People’s Challenger Trophy in 2025. His measured and methodical approach to the TT has been a defining feature of his first two campaigns, prioritizing course knowledge and incremental gains with every lap.
Speaking about the 2026 program, Majcan emphasized the importance of focus and consistency as he looks to build on his previous performances.
Loris said, “I’m really pleased to be returning to the TT for a third year. Each visit has been about learning and improving, and I feel like I’ve built a strong foundation over the last two years. For 2026 I am fully focused on Supersport. I have a really fast bike, and I’m hoping for a big step forward in lap time and speed. Unfortunately, due to a lack of funding, I didn’t manage to get the R7 race ready for the Sportbike class, but I am focused on preparing to come back on that in 2027.”
Majcan added, “I’ve also got my personal and favorite ‘34’ as my start number, which means a lot to me, so it feels like a special year.”
His steady rise through the field, combined with a clear commitment to mastering the demands of the Mountain Course, marks him out as a rider continuing to build momentum at the event. A measured approach in his previous two campaigns has seen Majcan reap the rewards on track, and that same philosophy positions him well for further progression in 2026 with a view to returning to the 1000cc category in future years.
