St Louis, Missouri hosts round 12 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross and SuperMotocross World Championship. Eli Tomac leads the 450SX points narrowly over Hunter Lawrence, but Ken Roczen is the rider who arguably has the most momentum at the moment. Tonight also marks the second 250 East/West Showdown of the 2026 season along with the annual St. Jude Love Moto Stop Cancer race. Join us for all the action from the Gateway City!
With two dominant performances, both Ken Roczen and Haiden Deegan sealed the deal with wins in their respective main events.

450SX Main Event
Hunter Lawrence looked to maximize his points gain with a crucial holeshot to start the 450SX main event. His lead was short lived as Jorge Prado took over the top spot followed closely by Ken Roczen. Roczen then made a bold move early in the race and put Lawrence high in the corner just after the mechanics area. This proved to be the moment of the race as Roczen never relinquished the top spot.

The Suzuki rider immediately upped the pace and sprinted away with the lead. He took off and led the remaining 22 laps in the number-one slot. Roczen easily gapped the rest of the field by more than 10 seconds en route to his third victory of the year. With his 26th career win, Roczen cut further into the championship points as he’s now just five out of the lead.

“I honestly still can’t believe it,” Roczen said. “That track was absolutely brutal and on top of that, it was just extremely busy. It was a brutal Main Event. Even when I had that gap, you just don’t want to make any silly mistakes that allow them to get closer and make it tight at the end. I just can’t believe I pulled off this back-to-back win. I just never stop believing. We’ve got the ball rolling. We’re going to hunker down and keep hammering.”

Justin Cooper matched his career-best second place result at the line. The Star Racing Yamaha rider started back in fifth but had a series of fast laps that helped move his way through the pack. Cooper found himself fighting with Prado and Hunter Lawrence but eventually cleared both of the early front-runners. This marks the third time J Coop has finished in second place but the first time he’s done so in the 2026 season, making STL his best result of the year.

“Three fourth places in-a-row has been a little bit frustrating, so it’s nice to get back on the box here. I think it was the toughest [race] of the year. It was challenging all day, but our setup worked. There was a little bit of cat and mouse in the beginning with Hunter [Lawrence] and Jorge [Prado], and I didn’t do myself any favors there. I couldn’t see Kenny [once into second] but I feel like my pace was really good and we brought it home.”

Hunter Lawrence salvaged a podium finish in third. The Honda HRC rider led early on but a bold pass from Roczen moved him down in the running order. He later made a series of mistakes which looked to have him off the overall box, but the 96 recovered at the halfway mark and found himself back in the mix. Lawrence continued to hold the advantage over points leader Eli Tomac but another few bobbles in the final few laps, including a tip over, saw him narrowly take third at the checkers. He leveled the deficit and is now tied for the championship lead with Eli Tomac.

“I’m pretty happy,” Lawrence said. “My wrist is still really sore from the crash last weekend so I’m happy to still be in the fight. This track was so freaking gnarly and probably the worst conditions for having a sore wrist. We got in and out in one piece and got the red plate back; or sharing it. How good is this title fight narrowing down to the end? I’m looking forward to this.”

Jorge Prado ran up front early in the race before finishing fourth, his second-best result of the year. “It was a hectic couple of laps from there with a lot of passes – I even got in the lead at one stage – and it was nice to be up there and showing my wheel,” Prado said. “I lost some rhythm when we hit lapped riders and the track went away a lot – the sections I was doing in the first 10 minutes were completely different from what I was doing in the last 10 minutes, which was gnarly.”

Cooper Webb rounded out the top five after passing Eli Tomac late in the race. Tomac again looked out of sorts as he finished sixth and lost more points in the championship fight.
“It was a tougher day for us at St. Louis,” Tomac said. “The good thing is that we didn’t lose too many points and we are still tied for the lead. I’m looking forward to the last five races, and doing what we can to get back up on top.”

250 East/West Showdown
Haiden Deegan dominated the 250SX East West Showdown en route to his second 250SX championship. Deegan got pinched on the start but came out just outside the top five. He quickly went to work but showed patience as he picked his way through the field. After clearing both Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s of Nick Romano and Seth Hammaker in the same section, Deegan set his sights on the leader Cole Davies.

Both of the Star Racing Yamaha’s ran at the front of the field until Deegan made an easy move around Davies. He quickly dropped the East Coast points leader and opened up a gap of four seconds in just one lap. This was all she wrote for any challenger as Deegan took the checkers by more than 15 seconds and sealed the deal on another 250SX West title.

“I’m so grateful,” Deegan said. “This 250 career has been insane. As a kid I wanted to win one championship, that’s every kid’s dream. This is number six. We’re going to keep digging. I ain’t done yet. I’m not done ticking [championships] off and we’re coming to the 450 Class swinging.”

Davies held on for second and was the top finishing Eastern Divisional rider. He led the first five minutes of the race before being passed by his teammate Deegan. Davies mentioned how gnarly the track was and that there was no need to risk a crash while still earning maximum points in the Eastern championship.

“I’m happy with tonight,” Davies said. “That track was gnarly. I just rode it home. I’m happy I gained points, because there was no need to push it in those conditions.”
Seth Hammaker finished third in the 250 main event. He looked fast all day but never really challenged during the main event. After getting past his teammate Romano, Hammaker again took a safe podium finish. Unfortunately, he lost more valuable points to Davies in the title run and is now 11 down in the 250SX East race.

“We’re coming to the closing stretch here,” Hammaker said. “So it’s going to be time to take a little more risk and leave a little bit more out there. I try my hardest each and every race. I try to be smart and try to be consistent, but Cole [Davies] has been riding super well. One of the gnarliest tracks I’ve ever ridden tonight, so I’m glad to get through it and get another podium. Four races left. We’ve got to get some more wins and attack.”

Nate Thrasher had his best result of the year in fourth with Ryder DiFrancesco crossing the line in fifth. Title hopeful, Jo Shimoda, crashed out in the heat race and suffered a leg injury which prevented him from racing in the main event.

450 QUALIFYING
Ken Roczen is riding a wave of momentum at the moment. After last week’s win in Detroit, the 94 is back on top with the best time in the 450 qualifying sessions. Roczen was the only 450 rider in the 54-second range and surprisingly this is the first time in over a year that Roczen’s qualified on pole. “It’s extremely tricky out there,” Roczen said. “I felt more comfortable in the second one [session] for sure.”

Chase Sexton’s time was good enough for second overall. Sexton looked fast as usual and is fresh off a podium last week in his return to racing. Malcolm Stewart grabbed the third best time after his season-best finish one week ago in Detroit. Justin Cooper clocked fourth with Jorge Prado rounding out the top five. Notably, Prado was fastest in the first 450 session. Points leader Eli Tomac had the seventh fastest lap with Hunter Lawrence back in ninth.

250 QUALIFYING
The 250 sessions were split between their divisional series but two front runners found themselves atop the time charts as Haiden Deegan and Seth Hammaker qualified fastest in their respective sessions. Deegan was best in both West sessions and his 53.799 held up as the quickest time of any 250 rider as he hit a near-perfect lap on a fresh track in Q2. Hammaker set the time to beat in the East with a 54.6, nearly a full second off Deegan’s time. Joe Shimoda was third overall between both coasts with Cole Davies and Daxton Bennick rounding out the top five.

Deegan’s time proved to be the fastest of any rider on track as he aims to clinch the 250SX West title tonight.
