Pipes Motorsports Group (HEP Suzuki) announced their rider Jason Anderson will be stepping away from Supercross racing for “an indefinite period”. Anderson missed the Daytona Supercross and is taking more time off to address personal, family, and ongoing medical issues. This decision comes after deliberation from Anderson, his management team, and the PMG Suzuki organization.

“I’m stepping away indefinitely to give them my full attention and to work on being the husband and father they deserve,” Anderson said in a statement.

“I want to speak directly about the recent situation,” Anderson told VitalMX. “I take full responsibility for my actions, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt they’ve caused my wife, and family. We are asking for privacy right now as my focus needs to be on my family. I’m stepping away indefinitely to give them my full attention and to work on being the husband and father they deserve.”

Anderson currently sits 10th in the 450SX points with a season best finish of fourth at Anaheim 2.

This announcement comes after news broke this weekend of Anderson being arrested in Orlando, Florida back in December of last year. Anderson was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail on December 15 for a domestic violence battery charge according to police records. The case has since been closed. There is no news yet as to how long Anderson will be out or if the PMG Suzuki team plans to hire a replacement rider to fill his position.
