The AMA hosted a large group of AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers, industry leaders and motorcyclists at its campus from October 23-26 for AMA Hall of Fame Days.
“AMA Hall of Fame Days is a grand celebration of all of the amazing individuals in the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame that have helped foster a thriving motorcycle community throughout the United States,” AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman said. “This week reminds us of how strong motorcyclists are when we work together and the strides that we have made as a community to promote the motorcycle lifestyle and protect the future of motorcycling.”
AMA Hall of Fame Days kicked off with the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Thursday, October 23, during which six motorcyclists were welcomed into the Hall of Fame. This year’s Hall of Fame class included Dana Bell, Chris Carter, Colin Edwards, Joe Kopp, Chad Reed and Ryan Young.
The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame also paid tribute to the memories of the Hall of Famers who passed away over the past few years: Dave Barr, Malcolm Smith, Mary McGee, Mark Buckner, Richard Teerlink, John Penton, and Norm McDonald.
Supporters and partners for the 2025 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame induction ceremony included Honda, Yamaha, MX Sports, Feld, Keeway America, Phoenix Handlebars, Guts Racing, the Broc Glover family and Rob Buydos. The induction ceremony was followed by a cocktail reception at the Hall of Fame Museum. The celebration featured a Hall of Famer autograph session and a silent auction.
“I started out riding horses, and my cousin had a dirt bike,” said Reed. “For obvious reasons, I chose to sell the horse. Ever since then, motorcycles have been part of my life,” Reed said. “It’s my belief that athletes are born, not raised. I was born to do this. I embraced America with everything I had, and along the way, everyone embraced me. Being in the AMA Hall of Fame is such an honor; racing is my life. I just love being around it, and I appreciate everyone who’s played a role around the way. I’ll be around—at the races!”
Flat Track legend Kopp said, “I want to thank the people who helped me get this Gold Jacket. I didn’t have the goal as a kid to be a championship racer. I just liked to ride with my cousins. Thank you, everybody, my wife, my kids, my friends—thank you!”
World Superbike Champion Edwards said, “Everyone I love and respect right now is in this room right now. Thanks to Yamaha, they were amazing, and they’ve continued on as a family. And to the AMA, thank you for having me. Ryan, Dana, Joe, Chris and Chad, it’s an honor to be here among you.”
Motorcycle advocate Dana Bell said, “For me, in my last 70 years, there has been nothing more exciting than throwing your leg over a dirt bike. Everything I accomplished was because of the amazing people I was fortunate enough to work with. It’s been a great ride.”
Racer and Motion Pro founder Chris Carter said, “To be recognized among legends who have shaped and propelled the motorcycle sport and industry forward is an honor beyond words. I want to thank the Hall of Fame committee and the AMA life-members for this incredible recognition. It’s not just a personal honor; it’s a testament to the countless individuals who’ve ridden this journey with me—colleagues, mentors and friends.”

On Friday, October 24, the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Heritage Adventure Ride took riders on a scenic journey throughout Southern Ohio, starting from the AMA Hall of Fame Museum.
The AMA Adventure X Time Trials opened the full day of activities on Saturday, October 25, and allowed racers to compete on the adventure loop on the AMA’s campus. Immediately following the AMA Adventure X Time Trials, the AMA Pitbike Moto ran on the motocross track, featuring hours of exciting racing action in a variety of classes. Trials Inc. also hosted a round of Vintage Trials on the AMA’s campus.
Concluding the festivities was the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Bike Night on the evening of October 25. The AMA welcomed vendors, food trucks and motorcyclists to its headquarters and held a 50/50 raffle. There was also a screening of the Motorcycle Mary film along with a seminar hosted by Ruth Belcher, Amanda Knapp and AMA board member Maggie McNally regarding the life and legacy of the late AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer, Mary McGee.
All proceeds from AMA Hall of Fame Days went toward the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that financially supports the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.CN
