It’s all change at the front of the British Superbike Championship table after three races at Cadwell Park, August 23-25, saw current number one Kyle Ryde (Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha) move into the points lead for the first time this season.
Bradley Ray (Raceways Yamaha) returned to winning ways at Cadwell Park with a dramatic race one victory, edging Ryde by 0.087 of a second after a fierce late duel. Ray led from the start, fending off Ryde and Tommy Bridewell (Honda Racing UK), before crashes for Danny Kent (McAMS Racing Yamaha) and Bridewell reshaped the race. Ray built a two-second lead mid-distance, but Ryde clawed it back, the pair even making contact on the penultimate lap. Ray held on, while Andrew Irwin (Honda Racing UK) claimed his first podium of the year in third after passing Christian Iddon (AJN Steelstock Kawasaki) late in the race. Storm Stacey (Bathams AJN Racing BMW) completed the top five.
Bridewell delivered Honda Racing UK’s first win of 2025 in race two, capitalizing after Ray crashed out of the lead on lap two. Bridewell controlled the pace under pressure from teammate Irwin and Ryde, with Ryde seizing second on the last lap at the Hairpin. Leon Haslam (Moto Rapido Ducati Racing) won the fight for fourth over Max Cook (AJN Steelstock Kawasaki).
Ryde sealed the weekend with a commanding victory in race three, taking the championship lead as Ray struggled to 12th. Irwin and Bridewell made it a double Honda Racing UK podium in second and third, with Iddon fourth and Cook fifth.
In the points, Ryde takes over the lead on 284 points to Ray’s 282 with Haslam third on 192.CN
