The “Junk Yard Dog” Upset the West Coast Riders on Their Home Ground
In this week’s Throwback we dial back the clock 30 years to December of 1995 and see the podium of the 125 Supercross Pro event for the GFI Invitational at Perris Raceway. Atop the podium is Yamaha factory rider John Dowd who took the victory and with it a suitcase full of GFI Invitational cash. Runner up was David Pingree (right) who led the race at one point before tangling with Kevin Windham resulting in a hole of the pipe of “Ping’s” Kawasaki. Canadian Chad Pederson (left) finished third.
