The Slam Life Racing team extended Honda’s dominance in Baja, April 2-6, by winning the King Shocks 38th SCORE San Felipe 250 overall in the bikes, thanks to the teamwork of Tyler Lynn, Ryan Surratt and Carter Klein. The San Felipe 250 is the first round of the 2025 SCORE World Desert Championship.
Lynn, Klein and Surratt completed the 250.06-mile racecourse in four hours, 49 minutes, and three seconds at an average speed of 51.89 miles per hour aboard the SLR No. 7x Honda CRF450X.

This was Honda’s 25th overall victory in the SCORE San Felipe 250, with a significant lead over its closest competitor, Kawasaki, which has seven wins in what is known as the “SCORE Baby Baja,” part of the Baja Triple Crown, alongside the Baja 1000 and Baja 500.
“It started off good,” said Klein. “Tyler started and rode well through the dust and got us into first physical place. He handed me the bike clean. I rode it to race mile 210 and handed it to Ryan and he brought it home. We had a little tip-over, but nothing major; I got right up. I had a few rock sections that were pretty fun. The day went super smooth, and we are stoked.”
Arturo Salas Junior of Mexico finished second overall and in the Pro Moto Unlimited class, aboard the Hero Racing No. 1x Honda CRF450X. Salas had the support of Shane Logan and Ciaran Naran.

“We prepared a lot for this race,” Salas said. “We are here. We are happy to be at the finish line, all safe and sound. First things first. Unfortunately, we got second place, but we are happy to be here at the line. We are not going to give up. We are for sure going to try to get the rest of the wins this year.”
Seventy-eight-year-old Jim O’Neal achieved his 21st career victory in the SCORE San Felipe 250 by winning the Pro Moto 40 class alongside Shane Esposito, Francisco Septien and Rene Magana. O’Neal has earned all his victories in the SCORE San Felipe 250 aboard a motorcycle. In his most recent win, he crossed the finish line on the No. 400x Honda CRF450X with a time of 6:5:53.
Larry Serna Jr., 29, had never participated in a SCORE race in the Pro Moto Ironman class, but he won with a time of 6:20:43 aboard his No. 715x Honda CRF450X. Serna not only completed the 650.06-mile course solo on his motorcycle, but he also outperformed a group of 16 athletes.
“Wow, well, I feel really good, with a little bit of energy, but I think it’s more adrenaline than energy,” said Serna. “It was truly a demanding course. Ironman is 70 percent mental and 30 percent physical. I’ve been working on my mental fitness to take on this challenge and the results have surprised me.”
Bhaskar Ramani of India, who now lives in Atlanta, Georgia, had a unique experience in the race, winning the Pro Moto Limited class aboard his No. 127x Honda CRF450X with a time of 6:13:544. Ramani teamed up with Luis Alberto Escobar, Thorn Devlin and Juan Tamayo.
“We had a rough start,” Devlin said. “When I got the bike, we were in last place, so I had some dust to fight, trying to watch for rocks and push when it was clear. I had a good day; I had one little get-off right at the end. I was only supposed to do 40 miles, but I got into physical first place, so the guys wanted me to continue, so that was an honor.” CN
