Aaron Plessinger and Shane McElrath fought for the holeshot in the main event but they collided and both went down. KTM’s Chase Sexton was pushed off the track and Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb was slowed up behind the carnage as well, forcing the championship leaders to work through the pack.

Justin Barcia took the early lead on his GasGas followed by Suzuki’s Ken Roczen and Kawasaki rider Mitchell Harrison. Barcia’s lead was short lived as he appeared to miss his brake pedal and flew over the top of a berm, handing the lead to Roczen.

Rockstar Husqvarna’s Hampshire took full advantage by taking the lead over Hammaker and Haiden Deegan. Deegan’s Star Yamaha teammate Cole Davies was in fourth place but on the move.
