Sunday WorldSBK Race Two
A disaster for Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) and a near disaster for Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) contributed to the order of the final race result at Assen, but nothing can take away from a brilliant first ever WorldSBK race win for Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha).
Bulega, starting from tenth place, made astonishing early progress, getting into the lead with half the race gone. He would be forced to drop out with two laps to go, while leading, leaving Locatelli a free run to win from Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) by very nearly three seconds.
A strong Sunday for Yamaha saw Aussie rider Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) make a great start and an even more potent finish, taking his second career WorldSBK podium after he was third in Race Two here last year.

Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team Ducati) was just 0.4 seconds from a Race Two podium, in fourth place after 21 dry weather laps after the morning rains had disappeared.
Two strong results for the bimota team saw Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) overhaul a slowing Razgatlioglu and then round out his final Assen race in a season-best fifth place.
An eventually close fight for sixth went to Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) who was 0.8 seconds up on the advancing Iker Lecuona (Honda HRC).
Lecuona was the final rider to get the better of a profoundly slowing Razgatlioglu, who was setting laps two seconds slower than the fastest riders at the end, saying he had a blistered rear tire on the right hand side.
The last two riders in the top ten group were Andrea Iannone (Team Pata GoEleven Ducati) and Dominique Aegerter (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team).
In the championship Bulega has 136 points after two Assen no-scores, while Razgatlioglu is now only 21 points behind, with 115. Locatelli’s first win sees him third, with 107.

Sunday WorldSSP Race Two
Can Öncü (Yamaha bLU cRU Evan Bros Racing) was the eventual race winner in a true rider-to-rider battle with a fellow Yamaha competitor, Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha). It took a big inside overtake, one that put Manzi in the position of rolling off or riding beyond the track limits for the race to be finally decided.
Manzi did not give way, crossed the line first, but also ran onto the inside of the infamous final chicane, and was automatically demoted one position for going too wide.

In third place, Race One winner Bo Bendsneyder (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) was again the darling of the local crowd, with Valentin Debise (Renzi Corse Ducati) his shadow in fourth.
Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura Ducati) passed Marcel Schrötter (WRP Racing Ducati) for fifth place, while the now 636cc Kawasaki of Jeremy Alcoba had a lonely final run into seventh place.
Rookie rider Aldi Mahendra (Yamaha bLU cRU Evan Bros Racing) was eighth, Federico Caricasulo (Motozoo ME air racing MV Agusta) ninth and Corentin Perolari (Honda RACING World Supersport) closed out the top ten.
Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) crashed out, restarted and then finished 15th.
In the points Manzi has 125, Bendsneyder has 111 and Booth-Amos 84.

Sunday WorldWCR Race Two
After a race-long four rider fight Beatriz Neila (Ampito Crescent Yamaha) was almost a surprise winner of the second WorldWCR Race, as she made a late move on second place finisher, Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Racing Team). The margin of victory was just 0.173 seconds.

After Avalon Lewis (Carl Cox Motorsports) crashed out of contention Sara Sanchez (Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team) was a close third.
Off podium, and 19 seconds back, was Roberta Ponziani (Klint Forward Racing Team), with Pakita Ruis (PR46+1 Racing Team) and Aussie rider Tayla Relph (TAYCO Motorsports) completing the top six.
Relph only just held off Chloe Jones (GR Motorsport) across the line, with Astrid Madrigal (Italika Racing FIMLA), Lucie Boudesseul (GMT94-YAMAHA) and Isis Carreno (Italika Racing FIMLA) completing the top ten riders.
In the championship, after these first two races of the new season, most recent race winner Neila leads Herrera, even if both riders are on 45 points. Sanchez is third with 32 points, Ponziani fourth with 24 and Relph fifth with 19.
The next round will take place at Cremona, between 2-4 May.

Sunday WorldSBK Superpole Race
On a wet but drying track surface Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) rode with full confidence on a full-wet tire choice to take the Superpole race win, by almost four seconds after just ten laps. He won his fourth race of the year to trim the points advantage at the top of the table to leader Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati). Bulega was to retire after finding technical issues on his factory bike, no-scoring for the first time this year.

Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team Ducati) has had an up-and-down weekend so far, but the pole sitter and no-fault Race One faller survived some hard passes and tricky moments in the wet to take his first podium in WorldSBK, with a strong second place. He was three seconds ahead of the final podium rider, Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati).
Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha) and Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) had a tough fight for fourth with the Italian coming out on top, by just 0.240 seconds.
Scott Redding (MGM BONOVO Racing Ducati) placed sixth, from Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) and Yari Montella (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati).
Two former BSB riders made the best of the wet conditions, with Tarran Mackenzie (PETRONAS MIE Honda Racing Team) going from 15th on the grid to ninth, with rookie WorldSBK rider Ryan Vickers (MotoCorsa Racing Ducati) beating even Alex Lowes on the factory bimota to take tenth place.
Just one more WorldSBK race to go at Assen, a full distance 21-lap Race Two.

Saturday WorldSBK Race One
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) capitalised on his start from the front row of the grid to ease away from the chasing pack and take the opening WorldSBK race win of the Assen weekend. He finished a vast 7.801 seconds up on second place rider, Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha).
Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati) played the long game well to pass one-time second place rider Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) with two laps to go, taking his own first podium of 2025 and relegating Razgatlioglu to a surprise off-podium fourth spot.

A multiple rider fight for fifth place saw Iker Lecuona (Honda HRC) at its head at the end of 21 laps, with his team-mate Xavi Vierge (Honda HRC) sixth, Dominique Aegerter (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) seventh and Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) eighth.
Local rider Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) was ninth and Scott Redding (MGM BONOVO Racing Ducati) a relatively distant tenth.
Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) lost the front early in the race and took out Superpole fastest rider Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team Ducati) in the process.
Both bimota riders were to fall, with Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) restarting to finish 111th but Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) no-scoring.

Saturday WorldSSP Race One
For a while during a stopped and restarted – and thus shortened – WorldSSPP Race One at Assen it looked like Can Öncü (Yamaha bLU cRU Evan Bros Racing) would run away to take another win like he did in Race One at Portimao.

It was not to be, as the chasing Bo Bendsneyder (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) – with the sun on his back and entire Dutch crowd right behind him – closed in and passed the Turkish rider to take his second win of the season. And with a margin of victory of over three seconds from the nearest challenger.
Öncü did not even get to finish second, as Stefano Manzi (Ten Kate Racing Yamaha) was to sweep past and take the runner-up sport with Can third – and at least on the podium.
Jaume Masia (Orelac Racing VerdNatura Ducati) was fourth, in a lonely position at the end, with Tom Booth-Amos (PTR Triumph Factory Racing) leading a five rider group across the line in fifth place, after what was a de-facto sprint race over only 12 laps, not the planned 18.
Leonardo Taccini (Ecosantagata Althea Racing Team Ducati) was sixth, the recovering Philipp Öttl (Feel Racing WorldSSP Team Ducati) seventh, recent WorldSSP300 champion Aldi Mahendra (Yamaha bLU cRU Evan Bros Racing) eighth and former WorldSSP champion Lucas Mahias (GMT94-Yamaha) ninth. The solo Kawasaki entry, ridden by Jeremy Alcoba (Kawasaki WorldSSP Team) was tenth.

Saturday WorldWCR Race One
Maria Herrera (Klint Forward Racing Team) was finally classified as the race winner on Saturday at Assen, even if she was the second rider to cross the finish line. Her rival, and initially the race winner, Beatriz Neila (Ampito Crescent Yamaha) had veered onto the green paint on the inside of the infamous GT chicane, and was thus dropped one position in the final results.

With the top two set, third place was taken by Sara Sanchez (Terra & Vita GRT Yamaha WorldWCR Team), who was over eight seconds back from the battle for the win.
Avalon Lewis (Carl Cox Motorsports) was fourth (and a couple of seconds down on Sanchez)) with fifth placed Roberta Ponziani (Klint Forward Racing Team) and sixth placed Chloe Jones (GR Motorsport) also having eventually lonely rides to the flag.
Tayla Relph (TAYCO Motorsports) won a personal battle with Astrid Madrigal (Italika Racing FIMLA) for seventh place.
Emily Bondi (ZELOS Trasimeno) and Isis Carreno (Italika Racing FIMLA) had a similarly close fight for the final two positions inside the top ten.

WorldSBK Superpole
Independent Ducati rider Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) put in a surprise fastest lap in dry and sunny conditions at Assen to secure his first Superpole Qualifying win since he joined the class in 2024.
He was 0.164 seconds faster than expected top rider Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati). The Italian rider had a very public temper tantrum when he was balked by another rider while on his way to set a faster lap than the one that eventually gave him second place.

The prospect of another Ducati v BMW battle was enhanced by the appearance of Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) on the front row for Race One, in third place.
Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) reproduced his strong form from day one to go fourth in Superpole Qualifying. Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) and top Yamaha rider Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha) completed row two.
Independent rider Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati) was seventh fastest, just over half a second slower than Sam Lowes.
Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) placed eighth, Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team) ninth and the top ten was completed by late session faller, Andrea Iannone (Team Pata GoEleven Ducati) completed the top ten.
Iker Lecuona (Honda HRC) was the top Honda rider, in 14th place.

Friday WorldSBK
Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) took the early honours at an eventually sunny Assen by setting the fastest lap over the first two Free Practice sessions. He was an impressive 0.252 seconds faster than surprise second place rider, Axel Bassani (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team).
The Friday top three was completed by Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team), who was 0.319 seconds down on the best early pace of Bulega. Razgatlioglu felt he could not get his bike to stay on line in the faster corners, of which there are many at Assen.

A cosmopolitan top four was completed by Andrea Locatelli (Pata Maxus Yamaha), with a Ducati, bimota, BMW and Yamaha leading manufacturer order before a small phalanx of Ducati riders dominated the next few places.
Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) and Sam Lowes (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team Ducati) were fifth and sixth fastest – making Lowes the top Independent rider of all.
Andrea Iannone (Team Pata GoEleven Ducati) was just 0.007 seconds from Lowes, in seventh place. Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team Ducati) ended day one in eighth, followed by local hero Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) and then Scott Redding (MGM BONOVO Racing Ducati).
Remy Gardner (GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team) was 13th overall on day one, and Garrett Gerloff (Kawasaki WorldSBK Team) 17th.
