Sammy Halbert and Henry Wiles Transferred to the Main
In this week’s Throwback, we dial back the clock 19 years to 2006 and that July’s AMA Grand National race at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Michigan.
Pictured are front-row starters for the Last Chance Qualifier. Only two riders would move on to the main event from this race. Shown (from L to R) are Shaun Russell (No. 28), Sammy Halbert (No. 43), Doug Lawrence (No. 89T), Henry Wiles (No. 17), Johnny Murphree (No. 20) and Nick Evans (No. 44F). In the end it was Halbert and Wiles making it to the main from this LCQ. Kenny Coolbeth won the Grand National that night.
