In this week’s Throwback we go back 32 years to 1992 and Costa Mesa Speedway. On a September night that year Lance King (center) showed that he still had plenty of speed even though he described himself as “semi-retired”. In the Scratch Main, before an enthusiastic crowd, King came out on top in a race filled with talent that included Andy Northrup (inside line), Mike Faria (outside line) and Steve Lucero (in the back). King got a great start and led the entire race, finishing ahead of Lucero, Faria and Northrup in that order.
