The Evolution “Evo” DST racewear is built using DST (Durable Stretch Technology) using four-way HEX-Stretch fabric with laser-cut perforations. The slim-cut jersey has strategically placed mesh paneling, including a full mesh back, and precurved sleeves created for the riding position. Zero-cuff arm openings provide unrestrictive mobility, as do the multi-directional Lycra neck and shoulder panels. The seamless armpit areas are constructed with a single-continuous stretch mesh panel from the sides to the cuffs, which helps prevents underarm irritation, and the silicone-printed droptail helps keep the jersey tucked in. MSRP for the LE Evo Abyss jersey is listed at $64.95.
The Evo DST pants are also made using the DST four-way-stretch technical fabric, and there’s stretch-mesh venting and laser-cut perforations in key areas. Leather heat-shield panels at the inner knees are stitched on with high-tension heat-resistant Aramid. The full-floating durable 900D seat panel is attached to breathable light mesh to reduce pulling. A Lycra liner adds comfort and the articulated knees accommodate most guards. Fly Racing’s innovative BOA fit system for on-the-fly micro-adjustability, and an exclusive zipper lock system keeps pants closed and secure. MSRP for the LE Evo Abyss pants is listed at $199.95.
Fly Racing’s Lite gloves in the matching Abyss colorway are an ultra-lightweight, minimalist race glove with a soft hand feel. They have silicone grippers on the fingertips, reinforced double-layered thumbs, single-layer perforated Clarino palms, and Spandex mesh on the sidewalls of the gusseted fingers. MSRP for both adult and youth sizes of the LE Abyss Lite gloves is $24.95.
The Abyss graphic also comes on Fly Racing’s Formula S Carbon helmet, which has a fully vented 12K carbon-fiber shell that includes the Adaptive Impact System, which is comprised of energy-mitigating materials and structures that protect the head. The Formula S can integrate with the Fly Smart app to provide real-time ride analytics and impact detection. The chinbar is reinforced with energy-absorbing EPP, and the opening is padded with both EPS and EPP to reduce the chance of injury from helmet impacts to the clavicle area. MSRP for the Formula S Carbon LE Abyss helmet is listed at $799.95 and a youth-sized version of the Formula S Carbon is priced at $749.95.
Formula S Carbon LE Abyss Helmet Features
- Quin Race Sensor – 5 scientific grade sensors constantly evaluate data during use and will auto detect a crash event
- Crash Detection – In the event a crash occurs, the Fly Smart App will record impact data and contact your emergency contacts. 5-diamond level monitoring center will dispatch local emergency services for APEX subscribers
- SOS Beacon – In need of assistance, but still on the move? Notify your emergency contacts and emergency services (APEX subscribers) by tapping the helmet 5 times
- Ride analytics – Live GPS tracking, speed, accelerations, Q-Score and more.
- Wireless updates ensure the device receives the latest developments from Fly Racing and Quin
- Rechargeable battery – Two hour fast charge mode via Micro USB and up to 60 days battery life (depending on usage) enhanced by automatic sleep and rise to wake functions
- Bluetooth 5.0 connection to device with Fly Smart App
- Integrated LED lights indicate device status and flash red if a crash occurs
- 12K carbon fiber shell produces an extremely lightweight shell with superior penetration resistance
- Impact Energy Cells made of Rheon, the Impact Energy Cells maximize absorption of low-speed linear and rotational impacts, reducing forces transmitted to the brain
- Conehead EPS Technology provides a softer liner whereby the cones help manage or absorb an impact force more efficiently. Six critical zones have been fine tuned for a progressive response to low-speed and high-speed impacts.
- Expanded volume EPS means strategic areas of the helmet have more impact absorbing EPS, more suspension between your head and the ground
- Expanded Polypropylene (EPP) chin bar creates an additional element of impact mitigation, and is used in the chin bar for its superior damage resistance, and energy absorbing properties
- Clavicle shell relief zone creates a soft zone filled with EPS and EPP to aid in reducing clavicle injuries
- Custom molded rubber trim with integrated nose guard
- Comfort liner and quick release cheek pads are made of washable moisture-wicking, anti-microbial material
- True Functional Ventilation (TFV)-When in motion, air is forced through multiple air intake vents, then passed through aligned vent channels in the EPS and exits out multiple rear exhaust vents
