Troy Herfoss fills in for Cameron Beaubier on the Tytler’s Cycle BMW
Rennie Scaysbrook | June 7, 2024
Current MotoAmerica Mission King of The Baggers Championship leader, Troy Herfoss, will replace the injured Cameron Beaubier in the Tytler’s Cycle BMW team for at least the Brainerd and Laguna Seca rounds.
Herfoss, 37, has been a revelation since replacing Jeremy McWilliams in the KoTB series, and also lies second in the Super Hooligan National Championship after taking a debut race win at Daytona in March. Herfoss will partner JD Beach in the Tytler’s team and will not get the chance to test before Brainerd, his first touch with the BMW coming at FP1 on June 14.
Herfoss will be on the Tytler’s Cycle BMW for at least the Brainerd and Laguna Seca MotoAmerica rounds as well as his Bagger commitments.
“First and foremost I would like to wish Cam the best recovery possible” Herfoss said. “He is a true champion in our sport, and it is an honor to ride his bike. I want to thank both Michael Kiley and the team at Tytler’s Cycle Racing and Gary Gray of Indian Motorcycles for allowing me this opportunity.
“If you’d told me a year ago I’d be racing the BMW Superbike and factory Indian in the King of The Baggers championship, I wouldn’t have believed you. It’s been such an amazing year. The BMW is one of the fastest bikes in the country and will be the highest spec Superbike I’ve ever raced and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
Herfoss’ appointment to the Tytler’s team comes with the blessing of Indian Motorcycle’s Vice President – Racing, Technology, and Service, Gary Gray, as Tytler’s Cycle Racing is also an Indian dealership in Wisconsin.
“Indian Motorcycles builds the best cruiser motorcycles on the market. I very much enjoy interacting with our customers in the cruiser sector in our dealership community,” said Michaeln Kiley, Team Principal of Tytlers Cycle Racing. “Having Indian Motorcycles and Troy Herfoss step in to help us is as close as we can come to flying the flag for Indian Motorcycles and our Indian customers who have supported the growth of our dealership. It has been a crazy week since Cam’s injury. The fans are being treated to a fantastic year of racing which means a very tough year for finding a stand in rider. Since round one we have had a lot of incredibly positive messages for Tytler’s Cycle Racing BMW M1000RR, built by Dave Weaver, and so many talented riders expressed a desire to get on the bike but remained loyal to their current contracts. For a standout rider like Troy with the support of Indian Motorcycles to step in and help out is a demonstration of why we enjoy being a part of the MotoAmerica community. We look forward to seeing Troy in our pit, on our bike and will support him the best we can to achieve the best results we can.”
