Team HRC Parts Company With Roan van de Moosdijk

Twenty days after Roan van de Moosdijk was brought in by Team HRC to fill in for the sidelined Ruben Fernandez (he injured his knee at the MXGP of Patagonia-Argentina), Honda announced that they have parted ways.
The Dutch rider also suffered a knee injury in a preseason race in Hawkstone Park while he was under the Fantic Racing Team umbrella, but v/d Moosdijk felt that he was ready to have another go, and signed with Honda to fill in for Fernandez. The deal only lasted two rounds, unfortunately.
The rider struggled with the high temperatures in the Sardinia round, saying, “Tough weekend, and not exactly how I hoped my debut would go. The conditions were extremely difficult and I felt it was better to fight another day, than to push over the limit and put myself in danger.” And in Trentino, v/d Moosdijk was in too much pain and withdrew from the MXGP, saying, “Overnight I made the difficult decision to pull out of the GP. I didn’t have a good qualification race and I know my body and it just wasn’t feeling right, and I knew it was similar to how I was feeling in the pre-season and that wasn’t good for me.”
Here is the press release from HRC…
(April 24, 2024) – Fill-in rider Roan van de Moosdijk and Team HRC have mutually ended their relationship after further check-ups on the Dutch rider’s knee have revealed that it would be unwise for the #39 to race in the immediate future. Instead, v/d Moosdijk will take all the time necessary to recover from this issue, and then hopefully come back to the MXGP world championship where he can then give it 100%.
Everyone at Team HRC wishes v/d Moosdijk all the best in the future and thanks him for the professional attitude he brought to the team in the couple of weeks he spent under the awning.
