Cody Webb Wins IRC Tire Endurofest and LoggerXross
The LoggerXross was back for 2021 and joined forces with the IRC Tires Endurofest for a two-day event in Orofino, Idaho, June 25-26. The long-running LoggerXross, held in the Orofino City Park Arena, includes some of the most unique obstacles found anywhere with over-under bridges and difficult log sections to challenge the riders. And new for 2021, the event included the Maniac Hard Enduro on Saturday.
On Friday night, many of the top AMA EnduroCross stars were present to get in some pre-season testing.
FactoryOne Sherco’s Cody Webb won both motos to take the overall win. He had to work hard for it including a dramatic second moto where he came back from last to take over the lead and win.
Rockstar Husqvarna’s Colton Haaker battled through the pack from last in the first moto and rode strong, finishing second in both motos to claim second overall on the night.
Factory Sherco’s Mario Roman, from Spain, who said he was excited to race against the top American riders, rounded out the podium in third with 4-3 moto finishes.
FMF KTM’s Trystan Hart finished fourth overall and RPM KTM’s Cooper Abbott rounded out the top five.
On Saturday, the Maniac Hard Enduro ran just outside of town and consisted of a 28-mile technical single-track woods loop, leading into two hard enduro five-mile loops designed by Josh Schaecher.
Webb came through the finish first in just over three hours.
Roman finished several minutes behind for second place, and Evan Ask rounded off the podium on a Beta.
KTM rider Kevin Dupuis finished fourth and GasGas pilot James Flynn rounded out the top five.
By finishing 1-1 in both the Orofino LoggerXross and Maniac Hard Enduro, Webb won the IRC Endurofest overall for the second time to go along with his 2019 win.
Only two women took on the difficult LoggerXross course on Friday night with FactoryOne Sherco rider Louise Forsley topping KTM rider Kylie Sweeten.
On Saturday, Forsley again came out on top of the results, this time followed by RPM KTM’s Maria (Forsberg) Hahn and Sweeten. CN
