2019 Geneva Supercross Results Night One
Martin Davalos topped the Monster Energy Supercross Geneva results on night one. The rider from Ecuador has spent his entire professional career racing the in the US in the 250 class but pointed out of the class in 2019 and will move to the 450 class for 2020. If the Geneva event is any indicator for the future, Davalos may be a surprise front runner in the SX1 class (450) as he dominated the evening to take the win ahead of Justin Barcia and Justin Brayton.
Davalos had a nearly perfect night of racing as he won his heat race and beat out Justin Barcia in round one and Justin Brayton in the final to win the head-to-head racing. Davalos then led every lap of the main event. Barcia had to work his way into second but was not able to apply any pressure on Davalos. Brayton had to make up for a sub-par start to work his way into third on night one.
Justin Hill finished fourth on his Honda ahead of teammates Malcolm Stewart and Vince Friese who were fifth and sixth respectively. French riders, Cedric Soubeyras, Jordi Tixier, Fabien Izoird and Thomas Ramette rounded out the top ten on night one.
In the SX2 (250) class, American Joey Crown took the win on a KTM. German rider Brian Hsu and Frenchman Calvin Fonvielle rounded out the podium.
