2021 Aprilia Tuono 660 First Look
Cycle News Staff | November 5, 2019
How do you one-up on the RS660, arguably the most anticipated motorcycles of this year’s EICMA show? Announce a naked version of it in a different segment. That’s exactly what Aprilia has done with the Tuono 660 concept.
2021 Aprilia Tuono 660
Based on the same parallel-twin 660cc engine, the Aprilia Tuono 660 will make around 95 horsepower which is only five horsepower less than the RS660. Aprilia even hinted that there would be a decreased 46 horsepower A2-license compliant model for European buyers when it is released next year. While slightly detuned, one can expect the Tuono 660 to handle urban environments and twisty bits of tarmac with the same amount of pedigree of the RS660, albeit more tuned for road and urban duties.
The Tuono 660 will feature Aprilia’s complete APRC electronics, including a six-axis IMU, including traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, engine brake control, and selectable rider maps. Brembo brakes are upfront that chomps down on with dual 320mm discs.
Other features include the three LED headlight configuration, dual fairing and winglets to aid in downforce and aerodynamics.
We hope and expect to see the Aprilia Tuono 660 in the 2021 model year and see it hit U.S. shores as well.
