Murrieta, CA – KTM Motorsports is pleased to announce its support for the newly formed 2019 AMA EnduroX Championship, which is set to begin August 24 at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona. The three-round AMA-sanctioned series will then head to the National Western Center in Denver, Colorado on October 19, before wrapping up in Boise, Idaho at the Ford Idaho Center on October 26.
FMF KTM Factory Racing’s Cody Webb, who is currently recovering from a recent knee surgery, will unfortunately miss the three-round series as he continues to undergo the rehabilitation process. The 2017 AMA EnduroCross Champion has plans to return for the 2020 race season.
Team Manager, Antti Kallonen: “With the new changes of Kicker Arenacross promoting the 2019 AMA EnduroX Series, we are pleased to support their efforts in growing the series. Although Cody Webb is out of the series due to injury, we are looking forward to seeing other KTM-supported riders competing for wins in this new race format that should bring some excitement to the series.”
The pro (Super EnduroX) class will use a three-moto format similar to the FIM SuperEnduro championship with a double row start and 16 riders. The first moto will be lined up based on afternoon hot-lap results. The riders will be inverted from the race one results for the second of the three motos. The final moto will be lined up based on the race two results so the top riders will race three times per event and at least one of those races will require a second-row starting position. Olympic style scoring will combine the results for all three motos to determine the overall event results.
