Here’s some good news for your Friday morning. Ken Roczen is slated to defend his 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross championship in the 2027 SMX season. This marks his fifth year with the AWM Fulfillment PMG Suzuki presented by Progressive/Cycle Gear team. “Kickstart Kenny” will be back with the number-one plate for the first time in his career after clinching his first-ever 450SX title in a thrilling season finale earlier this year. From the details in the release, this seems like a one-year for Supercross only along with the post-season SMX Playoffs, similar to Roczen’s deals in the last few years.

“Very excited to have Ken back on the team,” said Dustin Pipes, Team Principal, Pipes Motorsports Group. “This has been a great partnership with growth since the inception. Coming off the high of our Supercross Championship this past season, we were eager to extend the partnership and keep him in Suzuki yellow for the foreseeable future. Ken is a huge asset to the team not only as an athlete, but the example he sets as a consummate family man and the work he puts toward his craft are heights we all strive for.”

“We’re excited to have Ken back for 2027 and beyond,” said Team Manager Larry Brooks, “Winning the Supercross Championship was a tremendous accomplishment, and we’re looking forward to defending that title together. Ken’s experience, preparation, and competitiveness set him apart. He embraces every challenge and continues to push both himself and our team to improve.”

“Ken has been an integral part of our racing efforts, and we’re pleased to continue this relationship,” said Chris Wheeler, Motorsports Manager at Suzuki Motor USA, LLC. “Ken’s elite-level performance, professionalism, and dedication have driven the success we’ve achieved together. We look forward to building on that momentum and continuing to demonstrate the undeniable capabilities of Suzuki motocross bikes at the highest level of competition.”
