Press Release | September 14, 2018
First Round of Mid-South Cross Country Racing is September 23
This is a press release from MSXC…
After a long summer break, we are about to kick off the 2018-19 Fly Racing MSXC season. Round one will be next Sunday, September 23, 2018, at The Haganator in Red Boiling Springs, TN. The Junior/Mini A/Women’s race will begin at 8:30 AM, Mini B/PeeWees at 10:00 AM, adult bikes at 11:00 AM, and adult ATVs at 2:00 PM. Registration will be open around 6:00 PM on Saturday, and will reopen at 7:00 AM on Sunday. See the 2018-19 MSXC flier on www.msxc.com under event info/fliers for the full schedule, directions, classes, entry fees, and other race info.
On Saturday, 9-22-18, there will also be four UTV races. There is an event flier on the website that tells the classes and race times. The races on Saturday will not be scored with MSXC’s scoring system, and no transponders will be required. Camping will be available both Friday and Saturday nights.
The MSXC adult bike class structure did not change from last season, except for the addition of a Trail Rider class. It is for any skill level, ages 12+, 80cc+ 2 stroke or 149cc+ 4 stroke, and will receive no trophies or points. The ATV class structure will not change except for the removal of the ATV Buddy class. We will still have the Buddy class for adult bikes. Again this season, we are going to allow Junior riders to race in the Junior race and the adult bike race on the same day if age and machine requirements are met. The minimum age for the adult bike race is 12, and the machine requirements are minimum 80cc 2 stroke, and 149cc minimum 4 stroke. Youth riders may compete in only one youth race per day, and adults cannot compete in the bike and ATV race on the same day.
The list of advanced riders from the 2017-18 season is posted on the website under announcements. Check to see if your name is on the list. Make sure you enter the appropriate class and skill level to avoid mid-season advancement and loss of points. The 2018-19 race entry form is also posted on the website under Racer/info.
ATTENTION: All riders age 17 or younger must have BOTH parents sign a minor release to participate in any MSXC event. We will have the annual release available again, which will be good for the entire 2018-19 season. The annual release will have to be signed by BOTH parents and notarized. This year at Round 1, there will be a present at signup on Saturday and Sunday. If both of a minor’s parents are coming to the event with picture ID, they can have the annual release notarized there. If both parents are not attending, they can print out the release off of the website under racer/info, and have it notarized before the event. The annual release is not mandatory, and both parents can continue to sign a minor release for each event if preferred. BOTH parents must sign a single event release, but it is not required to be notarized.
We will once again have a minimum $500 purse for AA and ATV Pro this season. (1st-$250, 2nd-$150, 3rd-$100) Tom Carter of Carter Engineering will also be sponsoring the $100 bonus added to the pro purse for AA and ATV Pro at all events this season, which will be an additional $50 for 1st, $30 for 2nd, and $20 for 3rd. We can’t wait to see you all at Round 1!
