Mark Samuels and Colton Udall combined efforts to win the 30th running of the SCORE San Felipe 250. The Ox Motorsports Honda duo battled it out early in the race with the Monster Energy/Bremen/THR Motorsports Honda before it went down with Roberto Villalobos at the controls. Villalobos suffered an injured shoulder but managed to get the bike to the next pit, where Ryan Penhall took over.
Despite being docked 10 minutes for a missed Virtual Check Point, the Ox team still had enough room to claim victory in what ended up being a close finish. They officially beat Villalobos and his teammates Penhall, Shane Esposito, Justin Morgan and Francisco Arredondo by just three minutes.
This was Udall’s fifth San Felipe win in seven years.
Jordan Brandt, Morgan Crawford, Cory Graffunder, Kevin Murphy claimed third-place honors on the SRT/Kenda/O’Neal Husqvarna FE 501. It was the team’s SCORE debut.
Ray Dal Soglio, Nic Garvin and Daymon Stokie finished fourth, with the Rex Cameron/Mike Johnson/Jason Trubey team winning Pro Motorcycle 40 (for riders 40 years and older) to round out the top five motorcycle teams overall.
Other class winners included: Garrett Poucher/Michel Valenzuela in Pro Motorcycle Limited (449cc or less); Luis de Nicolas/Jorge Flores/Mario Murillo, Jr./Jorge Valenzuela in Pro Motorcycle 30 (riders 30 years and older); Andy Kirker/Flipper Manchester/Jim O’Neal/Mark Winkelman in Pro Motorcycle 50 (riders 50 years and older); former class champ Tony Gera in SCORE Ironman (on a KX500, no less); and Kristopher Harvey/Eric Saltzer in Sportsman Motorcycle.
