Iowa’s Gavin Faith took top honors at the opening round of the 2016 AMSOIL Arenacross Championship in Cincinnati, Ohio, January 9. In the one night, two-moto event, Faith was the most consistent, finishing 2-3 to nail the overall victory over Jacob Hayes 5-1 and Chris Blose 4-4. It was an all-Kawasaki podium.
Opening-race winner Travis Sewell of Westville, Indiana, went 1-7 for fifth overall.
Defending champ Kyle Regal had a tough night, going 10-9 for eighth overall. It wasn’t all bad for the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider, however, he did come away with the win in the RMATV/MC Head 2 Head Challenge.
Yamaha-mounted Keith Tucker, of Fuquay Varina, N.C., took the win in the Eastern Regional Lites class.
