Justin Barcia and Zach Oborne led the way in their respective classes Saturday afternoon for Monster Energy Supercross timed qualifying at Anaheim II.
Barcia pushed his Autotrader/Toyota/Yamaha YZ450F to a time of 1:02.326 in his second session. That was 2-10ths of a second faster than series leader and Anaheim I winner Ken Roczen on the RCH Soaring Eagle/Jimmy Johns/Suzuki. Roczen has never finished off the podium in his four Anaheim 450SX Class starts.
Trey Canard rounded out the top 450 qualifiers aboard his factory Honda. Canard finished in eighth place in Phoenix. He is one of seven riders who have been in the top ten for both races. Ryan Dungey, Roczen, Jason Anderson, Weston Peick, Andrew Short, and Chad Reed are the others.
Osborne looked strong in timed qualifying on the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna with a time of 1:03.267. That nipped Cooper Webb (1:03.387) and Tyler Bowers (1:03.484). Osborne is coming off a Phoenix round where he was able to add another top-10 finish to his already respectable 250SX Class career. With his seventh place finish in Phoenix, Osborne now has 22 top-10 finishes in 32 career 250SX Class starts.
