Yamaha’s New YZ250FX Is Ready To Go GNCC Racing

Thinking about converting your YZ250F motocrosser into a full-race cross-country/GNCC off-road racer? Well, Yamaha has done all the work for you with its just-released YZ250FX.
The YZ250FX is closely modeled after the 2015 YZ250F motocrosser but tuned for off-road racing, more specifically, GNCC-type racing. Like the motocross version, the YZ250FX features a rearward slanted, fuel-injected, 249cc, DOHC four-stroke engine with four titanium valves. It retains the YZ’s bilateral beam frame and KYB SSS front suspension. Like its new WR250R brother, it features an electric starter, and 18-inch rear wheel and a kickstand.
Yamaha says that, “the suspension, fuel injection, clutch and engine character have all been carefully tuned to provide the best experience when the riding gets rough and rugged. The 2015 YZ250FX is a pure bred off-road race bike. All it needs is gas and a rider to put it on the top of the podium.”
It has an MSRP of $7890 and will be available in December.
