Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard will miss at least the opening round of the 2014 AMA Supercross Series after sustaining a broken arm while practicing over the Thanksgiving Weekend.

The injury was serious enough for him to have to undergo surgery on Tuesday, December 3.

“Of course we are disappointed that Trey will miss the opening rounds of the 2014 Supercross season,” said Director of Racing, Ray Conway. “He has been going really fast at all our pre-season test sessions. We all know how hard Trey will work to get back as soon as he can, and the whole team can’t wait for his return.”

When that return might be is not yet known.

After suffering a serious back injury early in the 2012 season, Canard made a successful comeback in 2013, when he finished sixth in the Supercross series and fourth in the outdoor Nationals.
