(Sardinia, Italy, October 3, 2013) – Four days down and two to go at the 88th running of the International Six Days Enduro in Sardinia, Italy, and it was a so-so day for the U.S. World Trophy Team. After a long day of racing, it looks as though Australia has moved back ahead of Team USA in the overall standings, by 46 seconds, leaving Team USA in third, with France out front.

Charlie Mullins, who has been one of the team’s best and most consistent performers, suffered a crash in almost every test today, which left him down in 12th in E2 class for the day.

Taylor Robert was top American for the third time this week, although he was down a bit in eighth in the E2 class, where as the first two days he finished fifth and third, respectively.

There were some bright spots, however, as team leader Kurt Caselli had his best day of the week, as did Thad DuVall. Caselli finished ninth in E2, right behind Robert, while DuVall was fifth in the E1 class, right behind teammate Zach Osborne, who was fourth on the day in E1. Osborne also won one of the tests.

The Junior Trophy Team remains in fourth position when the final results were posted, with Kailub Russell leading the way and sitting 11th in the E2 class. Andrew DeLong, Jesse Groemm and Grant Baylor all had consistent days.

In the Women’s Trophy Division, Team Australia had a healthy lead in that category, with Sweden second and France in third. The U.S. squad of Mandi Mastin, Rachel Gutish and Brooke Hodges sits sixth.
