Update: AMA Road Racing TV

A deal to telecast the AMA Pro Road Race Championship is nearing completion with the races likely to be televised in more favorable time slots, according to an AMA Pro Road Race official.

The telecasts had been put in jeopardy with the expected changes to Speed. The longtime motorsports broadcaster is expected to disappear and be re-born as Fox Sports 1, a more traditional sports channel intended to rival ESPN, though that hasn’t been confirmed. With Fox Sports 1 aiming to fill their programming with more traditional sports, some of the less popular properties were certain to be eliminated. Clearly, AMA Pro Road Racing fell into that category.
