Rain Halts Marquez Test

Rain in Spain thwarted Marc Marquez’s Moto2 debut today, the young Spaniard opting not to take to the track in the wet conditions.

“I was looking forward to riding and I still am because today I was left wanting to get started, as it has been raining and we decided not to go out on the track,” Marquez said in a Repsol team release. “If it rains tomorrow, I’ll have no choice but to ride in the wet because the days are coming to an end, but to try a new bike, with a new team, it’s better to wait for better conditions. I’m really excited about this project, in which we will have a structure made up of people with a lot of experience and the support of two very strong sponsors to whom I’m very grateful for this opportunity, which does not come easily these days. We’ll see if the weather improves tomorrow because I can’t wait to try the bike, which will have the Suter chassis in the end – an option that proved competitive this season.”
