Press Release | February 6, 2007

The following is a release from MKEG:

Darcy Lange and the Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki Team wrapped up the K&N Presents BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series brought to you by Honda this past weekend at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with three wins and one second-place finish over the weekend. For winning the BooKoo Arenacross Series Championship Lange has won $25,000 from the $100,000 point fund along with a new 2007 Honda Ridgeline truck.

“I’m really happy, I’m happy for the team and all our sponsors,” Lange commented. “We worked hard as team. It has not been easy to win the title, it’s been tough at times but as a team we just stayed focused.”

The team as successfully accomplished their first goal, now the Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki team must prepare for what could be their biggest challenge all year.

The final round coming up this weekend at the Mohegan Sun is also the U.S. Open of Arenacross which will carry a $100,000 purse, with $50,000 going to the winner, making this event the largest arenacross purse in the world. Lange is the odds on favorite going into the final with 23 main event wins out of a possible 36. “We are exactly where we wanted to be going into the U.S. Open of Arenacross,” said Denny Bartz, Babbitt’s Monster Energy Kawasaki Team manager. “We wanted the championship in our pocket so Darcy can concentrate on winning races and not protecting a point lead. We predict this will be our toughest challenge all year.”
