The following is a release from the AMA-

AMA Pro Racing has announced that Josh Hansen and Josh Grant have been penalized for actions at round 12 of the THQ AMA Supercross Series at Texas Stadium in Irving, Texas on April 2.

In announcing the penalties, AMA Pro Racing SX/MX Series Manager Steve Whitelock stated Hansen has been fined $5000 and Grant has been fined $2000. Additionally, both riders have been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2005 racing season and further inappropriate behavior could result in a suspension of their AMA professional racing licenses.

“At Dallas, both riders engaged in actions that are detrimental to the sport of motorcycle racing,” said Whitelock in announcing the penalties. “An on-track incident spilled over to additional altercations off of the track and that is completely unacceptable.”

Both riders were made aware of their penalties Friday morning in a meeting at the Pontiac Supercross.
