Three Americans To Race UAE Desert Challenge

Three So. Cal. motocross/desert racers are venturing off to the Middle East next week to tackle the UAE Desert Challenge, a six-day, 1362-mile rally through the United Arab Emirates, October 10-15.

Bill Gilbert, Scott Yenzer and John Deykes are competing for the Power-Horse race team and are the only Americans participating in the final round of the FIA World Rally Cross Championship.

“We were hoping to get a cheering section going through Cycle News readers and hope to bring some fun back to this part of the world in light of the recent events in the Middle East and the tragic death of Richard Sainct,” Gilbert says. “You should be able to follow our progress on www.uaedesertchallenge.com, www.power-horse.com, and www.eurosport.com. E-mails during the rally can be sent to our team at bort24@hotmail.com.”
