More new rider news out of the amateur racing scene as 5.11 Triumph Factory racing signs Landon Gibson through the 2027 season. Gibson formerly rode the past three years with the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team but moves to a new home after the Husqvarna team closed following the 2026 SMX schedule. Gibson is a current amateur standout, placing second overall in the 2026 Loretta Lynn 250 Pro Sport class and was later crowned the 2026 AMA Motocross Horizon Award Winner.

“I’m so grateful for this opportunity that I have been given, thank you to everyone that has put this together for me,” Gibson said. “It’s time to have fun and do work.”

“I’m extremely excited to have Landon join our program,” said Jeremy Coker, General Manager of Triumph Racing America. “Anytime you have the opportunity to bring in a highly talented racer—especially a Horizon Award winner—it’s a great addition to the program. Landon has a tremendous amount of potential, and I’m really looking forward to watching him develop and progress through our amateur program and into SMX Next.”

The Georgia native makes his debut on Triumph TF 250-X at this weekend’s MotoPlayground Race at Ponca City. In 2027, he’ll race each of the SMX Next races and all major amateur national events.
