The world’s largest aftermarket event will host a new GiveAShift (GAS) panel and report on the state of the powersports industry.

This is a press release from Give a Shift…
Nine years ago, an independent report offered as constructive criticism of the motorcycle industry went public. The 2017 GiveAShift report was produced by a volunteer roundtable of motorcycle industry professionals and engaged enthusiasts representing many backgrounds, including extensive motorcycle OEM experience to aftermarket managers, media contributors and dealership experience. It also included a group of motorcycling enthusiasts, each of whom brought their own consumer experiences. All were committed to a no-holds-barred conversation about the current state of the motorcycle industry and developing key points to bring to light. It offered tactical solutions to help the motorcycle industry have a singular free report to consider for future planning.
The 2017 report identified five key pillars to benefit the industry.
- A desirability problem, not a product problem.
- The autonomous-vehicle future regarding motorcycles.
- The critical need for increased female motorcyclists.
- Relentless self-promotion by enthusiasts.
- Reinventing the dealership experience.
The provided transcript and other more tactical suggestions allowed any interested party to be a fly on the wall for what was an educated and insightful conversation. With a free distribution, it was digested by many in the industry and raised awareness of issues that are often overlooked or need reinforcing.
2026 will see a new GiveAShift (GAS) panel reconvene at the 2026 SEMA Show, taking place November 3-6 in Las Vegas. Produced by the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association, the SEMA Show is the largest automotive aftermarket event in the world and is making a focused effort to expand its coverage of the powersports world in 2026 and beyond. The GAS report will be hosted during the iconic event in Las Vegas and will be published and distributed by GAS founder Robert Pandya for free in December of 2026.
“When I hosted the inaugural 2017 GAS roundtable in Long Beach concurrent [with] the International Motorcycle Shows, the desire to participate, as well as the response and subsequent downloads were truly unexpected,” says Pandya, a motorcycle industry veteran of over three decades. “The panel discussion was insightful and professional and opened up significant opportunities for the motorcycle industry to simply improve how it approaches new ridership, existing riders and the aftermarket. The free report, a transcript and survey responses were downloaded over 7000 times, and delivered content that we feel was helpful for anyone associated with marketing and selling motorcycles.”
For 2026, the GAS roundtable will again be hosted by Pandya and will occur on November 3 adjacent to the new Powersports / SXS/ lifestyle section in West Hall of the SEMA Show. Functionally, roundtable participants will be asked to submit an application to help ensure a diverse panel. 20 industry experts and enthusiasts will be selected and will be given an exclusive “existing state of the industry” report produced by Power Products Research for homework prior to the discussion. Chosen participants must be available to meet in-person in Las Vegas on November 3 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Participants will be given full VIP access to the week-long SEMA show, as well as an exclusive tour of the new powersports displays. Other bonus perks will be shared with selected participants following acceptance.
“The SEMA Show has always had strong crossover with the powersports industry, and we’re excited to see this expanded category continue to grow,” said SEMA Vice President of Events Tom Gattuso. “After listening to the motorcycle and powersports community, we saw a clear opportunity to bring industry leaders together for a renewed GiveAShift roundtable. The resulting 2026 report will capture important insights and help support the future growth of the industry. We’re proud to welcome GiveAShift because it reflects both the business of motorcycling and the passion that drives it.”

Accepted panelists will have full show access for the full run of the 2026 SEMA show and be invited for media events as well.
The independent report will be distributed in December 2026 for free to anybody interested in improving their business and the future of motorcycles, timing that will help the critical spring 2027 selling season.
