The Honda HRC team will line up with Somkiat Chantra and Jonathan Rea for the Pirelli Dutch round at Assen (April 17-19), with test rider Rea again standing in for the recovering Jake Dixon.

Six-time champion Jonathan Rea will race for Honda again at WorldSBK in the Netherlands, April 17-19, while Jake Dixon’s target for his WorldSBK debut has been revealed.
Rea will return to the Honda HRC bike at the TT Circuit Assen when the FIM Superbike World Championship visits the “Cathedral of Speed.” Rea will continue to substitute for Dixon as he recovers from the fractured wrist he sustained during testing in Australia, with Rea lining up once more alongside Somkiat Chantra.

Rea scored points in his comeback at the last round at Portimao, finishing P12 in race two. Assen is a circuit where he has had success, with 17 wins and 25 rostrums in total. He will again stand in for Dixon, whose recovery is ongoing, with a target of the Hungarian round for what will be his WorldSBK debut.

“[I] had the wires out and X-ray shows the bones are healing,” said Dixon. “One step closer and feels good to let the wrist breathe after six weeks and get to start physio ASAP now too.”CN
