Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha rider, Pierce Brown, took a big crash on Saturday night at round 10 of the AMA Supercross Championship in Birmingham, Alabama. Brown, the winner of the opening round of the 250SX East championship, fell during the 250SX East/West Showdown and suffered a broken collarbone along with a dislocated wrist. From the sounds of the injuries, he’s likely miss the remaining rounds of the 250SX championship.

“Last Saturday wasn’t my night,” Brown updated via Instagram. “Dealt with some adversity in the heat and had to pay for it in the main with track position. Ended up catching a rock on the face of a jump and crashing while making a pass resulting in a broken collarbone and dislocated wrist. Right now I’m not quite sure what to expect for recovery time but imma do everything in my power to be back at the races asap. Apologies to the team and all my supporters. We’ve put too much work into it to have it ripped out from under us like this. Head down we’ll be back.”

Brown found himself on the ground during the heat race when Evan Ferry crashed into the Yamaha rider. Ferry later received a penalty from the AMA. Brown started the 250SX East Championship with a win in Arlington and later backed that up with a podium in Daytona and a fifth in Indianapolis. He did not finish the race on Saturday night and dropped to fifth in the championship standings.
